Weightloss for Teens – Relieving Teenage Weight Pressures (part 2)

On a case to case basis, a customized diet program is required and recommended to be highly effective for some teenagers. Usually designed by diet and nutrition professionals, these customized diet programs include itemization of specific food groups and the proper portion sized your kid should eat.

These diets put emphasis on the reduction in the intake of foods rich in saturated fats. A decrease of fat in a person’s diet will make it easier to maintain body weight in addition to making him or her healthier. These programs suggest that there should not be more than 30 grams of fat in the daily diet.

To comply with this, teens should spread out their fat intake for each meal. Snacks like potato chips and buttered popcorn should also be avoided since they’re loaded with fat.

The biggest challenge to you teen’s diet program is when they eat out with friends. Restaurants portions usually come in huge servings and contain too much salt, fat and calories. They have to learn to choose the right food in the correct portion size. Part of a diet program should be instilling discipline and self control.
